Entertainment Console

Mr. Bill wanted us to get a new entertainment center.
We have had the same entertainment center for 20 years.
It has housed our small T.V.
When the kids were growing up, I didn't want our household to be all about the T.V. so,
we almost always had smaller ones and there were always hidden away.
He wanted to get me a bigger television and something more stylish to set it on.
He was in charge of the television.
I was in charge of the cabinet.
We shopped around town and looked on line and in catalogs.
I really wanted a built in cabinet.

The base would have been kitchen cabinets with shelves up above. I even drew out my plans.
I needed Bill's help, but he is always super busy at work and wouldn't have been able to assist with the build.
So plan B.
I wanted a Pottery Barnesque type of console without the price.

We found this one at a local furniture chain for less than half of the one I liked at P.B.
It has that Craftsman style like my front door.

It changes the look and feel of our living area.

The candlesticks were in the kitchen before we painted the cabinets. I hit them with Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic by Rust Oleum. It is the best stuff.

The birdcage was on top of the old armoire.
I stacked some books inside.
I sprayed the pumpkin silver. I really didn't think it would work. Marty over at "A Stroll Through Life" inspired me with that.
It is fun to have a surface to decorate for a change.
Guess how much I paid for the lamp?
$7.00.
It was at Kirklands after Christmas clearance sale.

I didn't center the T.V.
I still didn't want it to be the focus of attention.
:)
Sprinkled with entertainment,
Katie
Pop back in and I will let you know where the armoire ended up.
