Moviehole-katietreasures: Deconstructed Loveseat Makeunder

I have been getting so much done lately.

I have been working on painting some pieces of furniture.

I showed you my little music cabinet.

It balances the white of the dish dresser now.

I went ahead and painted my $11.00 tea table.

I knew I wanted to recover the loveseat when I moved it out here. A white dog on a brown couch was not really working out but I was dreading it.

I found this piece on the curb a few years ago. It was a total gut job so it wasn't one of the easiest pieces to do.

It needed all new guts, stuffing and fabric.

This time I decided to use drop cloths.

I didn't worry too much about doing this the "right" way.

I didn't strip off the brown.

I just tacked the drop cloth over the brown so I could undo this at some point.

I like how it has that "I am waiting for my real fabric look."

I love, love the exposed tacks.

I am not sure why this "deconstructed" look is in. Restoration hardware has a line of furniture that looks like it hasn't been upholstered yet. I'm sure it's origin has to do with antiques from Europe that have been stripped down before reupholstery. I don't get why you would want that... some of them actually have stuffing sticking out.
But

I love the casual feel of this piece now.
